I got a letter from my mother today. I never get mail from her. She wants me to visit over Christmas break. Apparently Andy and Emma have already agreed, and obviously Pip and Jamie have no choice. I think she's trying to do the whole happy families thing, but I'm really not buying it. Besides, if I go then dad's on his own during the holidays and that's just horrible. So I think it's just me and dad this Christmas, which sort of sucks but it's better than spending the entire holidays with my mother.
I know it's quite a long time away, but what's everyone else doing over winter break? |

The only time I ever really miss home is on days like this. My dad sent me a letter today with a picture attached, something that really made my day. I'm going to share because it might put a smile on some of your faces too.

For those of you who don't know, these pair of terrors happen to be my twin siblings, Pippa and James. It's crazy to think that they'll be seven in April. Time really does slip away before you realise it. They already look different since the last time I saw them. I can't believe how much they've grown up. Utterly nuts. |

Even though our team isn't playing, I'm really looking forward to the Quidditch season kicking off on Saturday. It's going to be loads of fun and from what I've heard, both teams seem to be ready and prepared. There's also the bonfire to look forward to on Friday night! I'm sure the fireworks will be awesome, and it'll be nice to get together and have some fun! This weekend is going to be amazing.
Oh, and before I forget, a reminder to everyone: Write in to me with your problems before the next issue of Charms comes out. It can be anything that you need advice about! You can even write to me anonymously if you want. Even if you don't want your question to be published, just note that in your letter and we can keep it totally confidential.

Things have been so busy lately! Between classes, homework, Duelling Club, Glee Club, SPEW, Quidditch practice, and working on the new magazine, I'm exhausted! I feel like I could potentially sleep for a year. This weekend, I'm spending the entire time in bed. Nick? If you wake me up, I will not be held accountable for my actions.
Before I go and bury myself under my bed covers, I feel the need to tell everybody that I'm the advice columnist for Charms. So if anybody has any problems, don't hesitate to send me an owl. Fuck me It's freezing outside! I went for a run around the lake before class earlier and it was so cold, not even a sprint could shake the chill. I even tried a few abdominal crunches and push-ups, but I was still shivering. It made me really short of breath and it felt really close, so I didn't stay out there too long. I really don't fancy ending up in the hospital wing again.
It's going to be a harsh winter, so wrap up warm if you've got a class outside or fancy a walk in the grounds later on!

A trip to Spintwitches is in order. I need to go and get some new arm guards because mine are getting on a bit and have considerable wear and tear. I can't really afford it but They're a necessity. I don't really want to owl order them, since I like to try them on first. I'd hate to end up with a pair that didn't feel right. I don't really feel like going into Hogsmeade but I definitely need to get some new ones before the Hufflepuff try outs.
Anybody want to come with me either today or tomorrow? |

My timetable is looking fantastic and I'm so relieved to be back. It doesn't feel like our last year at all, does it? I guess it won't really sink in until we're half-way done. Whatever happens this year, I'm sure it'll be one to remember.
I'm not going to bore everybody with asking how summer was. I've already seen several people ask that question. Instead, tell me what your plans for the upcoming year are? Seeing as us seventh years won't be coming back next September, what do you hope to achieve in the next few months?
Oh! Before I head off to double Transfiguration, a small reminder to you, Alice some people; if anybody needs to talk to me about anything, please just note me. Following me to the bathroom or waiting for me outside my classes is creepy not good. Is it possible to get a restraining order whilst at school? |
